So you can imagine my unspeakable delight when I was informed at check-in that we would be spending our three nights in Paris at the Presidential Suite of
the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome!
I was already expecting to be delighted (even in a standard room) as I had been foretold of the
hotel’s artistic touches and beautiful sculptural elements being incorporated in the rooms, such as
the graceful figures adorning the door handles and light sconces.
I was not let down.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a grand staircase and a trio of sculpted figures
lighting up floor to ceiling mirrors. To my right was a study nook with a desktop computer (useful for
booking tickets online and checking in), but I was more interested in what was waiting for us on the
foyer table: champagne and a too-pretty-to-eat “cake” made out of beautiful berries!
As I walked through the light-filled atrium, it lead off to the living area and a kitchenette (but let’s face it, with so many amazing food options in Paris, I’m not going to be cooking). The lounge was incredible (and out of this world) – there was a baby grand piano, plush couches and television, a generous bar, and fireplaces at both ends of the room.
There were also doors leading out to a private outdoor terrace which offered a classic, stunning view over Parisian terrace rooftops – incredibly romantic.
Upstairs was the master bedroom, with king-size bed, and the most luxurious bathroom I have ever
used. The ensuite came with its own massage bed, a massive spa bath, a hairdresser’s chair, his and
hers sinks and walk-in-robes, and my favourite, a steam room and shower ornately decorated with
gold mosaic tiles.
The other nice touch was the generous size of the toiletries by Blaise Mautin Parfumeur (150mL) – of course, they are made in France and smelled divine.
Like all good things, my three days of luxury living in Paris came to an end far too quickly. Highly
recommended for a splurge or that special occasion!
- Sign up for the Hyatt's loyalty program, the Hyatt Gold Passport - for every dollar you spend, you get 5 Hyatt points - which can score you that big upgrade when you need it! Plus as a loyalty club member, you're more likely to get freebies thrown in with your stay.
- If you are going to splash out on one Hyatt hotel (or use your free nights' stay courtesy of the Hyatt Gold Passport), definitely do it on this Paris Vendome one. There is a difference in standards between the various Hyatt hotels, and the Paris one is one of their best (if not the best). Plus, Parisian accommodation is expensive anyway, so you may as well get the most bang for your buck!
